Facilities for Coaches & Tours

The Trossachs Pier Hub can accommodate coaches within designated parking bays, in close proximity to the recently upgraded and expanded toilet facilities and pier head. Parking for coaches is free. On site there is a well-stocked gift shop, and a cafe that can accommodate 90 people. 

The iconic Steamship Sir Walter Scott (capacity 205 passengers), which began sailing in 1900, is our main vessel, along with two other large cruise boats, Lady of the Lake (Capacity 85) and Rob Roy III (Capacity 72), and Osprey, a smaller boat for charters of up to 10. 

Loch Katrine Cruises and Tours

There are kiosks onboard the Steamship, Rob Roy III and Lady of the Lake, with licensed bar and serving cold/hot drinks and snacks. Steamship Sir Walter Scott is wheelchair accessible. All of our cruises feature live commentary from our knowledgeable captains. 

Visitors to Loch Katrine enjoy experiencing this unique loch's strong heritage and rich nature within The Great Trossachs Forest, a National Nature Reserve and part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. An illustrated mini-guide is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Mandarin, which is ideal for accompanying a cruise. 

Themed Coach Operator Experiences

We can arrange bookings for one of our scheduled cruises or, by arrangement, create a new sailing. Cruises can be themed seasonally, such as 'turkey and tinsel' at Christmas or with lunches, afternoon teas or high teas. 

Excellent Location in Scotland

Loch Katrine is located in the heart of Scotland, close to many of its largest cities: Glasgow (60 minutes), Edinburgh (75 minutes), Perth (70 minutes) and Stirling (45 minutes). 

Trossachs Pier, Loch Katrine, is on The Trossachs Trail and is ideal for combining with other nearby attractions and destinations.

Cycle Hire is available at Trossachs Pier, and there is the opportunity to combine a one-way cruise on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott with a cycle back.

New Scenic Tower

New for 2024 (opening in June), Trossachs Pier has a watch tower providing spectacular views from the viewpoint, at the spot credited with being the birthplace of Scottish tourism. This is only 200 metres from the coach park.
